Leadership Development

Penny is an outstanding facilitator and an incredible person to watch in action. She has strong intuition that she uses to move leaders through content, sensing and flexing seamlessly with a no-nonsense approach and a wonderful sense of humour. Penny can deal with leaders of any background, level or industry and still have them leave the room believing they can be more than they ever thought possible. I cannot recommend her highly enough. – Manager, Culture and Leadership, Qantas Engineering

Leadership development is my passion. And I have over 30 years of experience and global knowledge to achieve this successfully at all levels of an organisation.

In this space, I have developed and facilitated everything from one hour webinars and half day workshops to leadership frameworks and extensive programmes run over several years. I have utilised most forms of learning including virtual and online offerings.

At a strategic level I have developed leadership competencies and frameworks. And I make sure I have the whole big picture when designing anything, so any initiative works with within the organisational system.

Why develop your leaders now?

Today’s leaders need to be agile: results driven and emotionally intelligent. They need to understand human psychology applied in practical terms, be nimble in working with diverse people (in its widest sense), in diverse work situations and balance ‘just-in-time’ with being responsive to change and innovation. They need a global intelligence applied with critical thinking.

Everyone at every level needs to approach work from a collaborative mindset – a big change from the last 20 years+, but many leaders say they don’t know how to do this.

I’ve heard nothing but positive stuff about your courses and in 25 years at Qantas I’ve never heard the guys speak positively about any training so you are breaking new ground. You really connected with me during our sessions and for me it was a life changing experience. – Leadership participant

A few examples

  • Watercare NZ, Leading the Watercare Way
Up-skilling all levels in best practice leadership capability, to create the right culture for their vital work and immediate future.
  • Action Manufacturing (NZ) / Apollo Manufacturing (Brisbane), Leading People to Action
All leaders, at every level, to step up to the challenges their industry is facing. Most have little experience of what it means to be a leader and see their role as transactional.
  • AsureQuality NZ, Stepping Up to Leadership
Creation of a sustainable and pragmatic initial leadership programme for a range of diverse roles across the business linked to NZQA L3 business; run over 7 years.
  • Qantas Australia, Qantas Engineering (QE) Transformative Leadership programme
Qantas was facing extreme financial issues and required all departments to cut costs and people by 40% including Engineering. QE had a multi-generational culture that had never faced redundancies. Many people were life-long employees, with generations before working there.
A transformational leadership programme was required to lead the new culture and manage this challenging transformation. Due to similar work with AirNZ Engineering, I was asked to run this over 2 years.
